The SBU detained Oleg Kulinich, the former head of the special service in Crimea, for treason. This was announced by Ivan Stupak, a former employee of the Security Service of Ukraine and an expert of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future.

«This is Oleg Mykolayovych Kulinich, the former head of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, stationed in the building of the Kherson Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine.

On March 2, 2022, Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed him from his post. And already today, the SBI detained him on suspicion of treason, Art. 111 KKU.

He is believed to be the key person who contributed to the rapid passage of Russian troops from Crimea to the Kherson region, as well as to the fact that the crossings were not blown up,» Stupak said.

The press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, in a comment on Channel 24, noted that they oppose hostile special services that are trying to expand the network of their agents in our state bodies. In recent years, the SBU has made a number of high-profile exposures of Russian agents.

At the same time, the law enforcement officers admit that their employees were also involved in such cases. Regarding the case with the traitor, who was the head of the SBU in Crimea, Oleg Kulinich, the department is ready to contribute as much as possible to the necessary information for its further investigation.

It should be noted that on March 2, 2022, Zelensky dismissed Kulinich from the post of head of the SBU department in Crimea. Oleksandr Vlasenko was appointed in his place.
