According to three of our interlocutors in the FSB and the Kremlin, this information was obtained from an anonymous source a week and a half before the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin.
“Serious information came in, we worked it out. They did not find hard evidence that some kind of serious rebellion was being prepared, ”the FSB source noted.
The Kremlin interlocutor told us more about this warning: “An unknown source described a very threatening picture. According to him, this time the «Wagnerites» were not going to march on Moscow.
They were going to raise a riot inside the capital, with lightning speed capturing administrative buildings and military units with armored vehicles and weapons.
The source also said that Prigozhin’s people were allegedly going to kill Sergei Shoigu and capture Vladimir Putin.”
In addition, the anonymous author named many possible allies of the «Wagnerites». Among them were the names Evkurov, Teplinskiy, Surovikin and even Gerasimov.
Our source noted that the Kremlin did not take this information very seriously, but conveyed it to Vladimir Putin. He demanded to check everything and take action if necessary.
When asked if this information could be related to the death of Prigozhin and his associates, the Kremlin source only shrugged and did not answer.
